Progress and HackMIT

This is the first year we are sponsoring HackMIT; we are looking forward to a great event. Three of our engineers will attend the event: Jen Looper from our Telerik team, Jeremiah Harlan from our Modulus team, and Eduardo Pelegri-Llopart from our CTO organization.

Progress HQ is in Bedford MA (HQ, near Boston). The Telerik HQ is in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Modulus HQ is located in Cincinnati. Other sites include Morrisville, SF Bay Area and Hyderabad.

Progress APIS at HackMIT

Progress has a number of products; the ones that are most likely relevant to the attendees at hackMIT are:

  • NativeScript - an Open Source cross-platform platform for developing native (iOS, Android at the moment) apps using JavaScript
  • The Telerik Platform - full tool-chain to create mobile apps, including native (iOS, Android and Windows), Hybrid (Apache Cordova) and NativeScript
  • KendoUI - a collection of more than 70 jQuery-based UI Widgets with AngularJS integration, Bootstrap support, mobile controls and offline data.
  • Modulus - An Application Container Platform build on Docker with support for Node.js, PHP, Java and Python.

Judging

Hacks will be judged on originality, technical difficulty, and applicability. Hacks need to leverage at least one of the Progress offerings.
